R∴W∴ Compton I. Wilson, Jr. serves as District Deputy Grand Master of the First Kings Masonic District, and R∴W∴ Kenneth P. Jordan as Grand Director of Ceremonies and Staff Officer. Their commissions were conferred by the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York on 5 May 2026. 20 October 2026 — Tyled Apron Re-Presentation, Excelsior Lodge No. 1177
The district was honoured by the presence of R∴W∴ E. Oscar Alleyne, Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York, our distinguished guest from Grand Lodge for the evening.
24 March 2025 — Grand Lecturer’s Convention
Brethren of the First Kings Masonic District,
On Monday, March 24, 2025, we gathered at the Whitestone Temple for the Grand Lecturer’s Convention, hosted by Reliance Lodge No. 776 of the 2nd Kings Masonic District. Our esteemed Grand Lecturer, R∴W∴ Gregory Noulas, led us through an enlightening session on the first part of the first degree.
We had seven brothers in attendance from the First Kings District, creating an atmosphere filled with camaraderie and fellowship that fostered unity and learning. Our Assistant Grand Lecturer, V∴W∴ Ken Jordan, will share valuable insights and observations from the Grand Lecturer, aimed at enhancing our understanding and execution of rituals.
We express our gratitude to all who participated, and we look forward to implementing the lessons learned as we continue our Masonic journey together.

7 March 2023 — Grand Lecturer’s Convention
Brethren,
Last night we welcomed R∴W∴ Richard Friedman, Grand Lecturer, at Midwood Temple as he conducted the 2023 Grand Lecturer’s Convention for the First Kings District. We had a modest turn out of members but those assigned roles for the work of the evening performed at a high standard which won the praise of the Grand Lecturer time after time. While we had a core of experienced brothers present, the attendance of newer brothers was disappointing. One cannot help but reflecting on the earlier days when lodges mobilized in earnest for these conventions in order to win the coveted Howard Potts Award — having all 7 of the line officers present. Brothers also showed up in strength so that their lodge could be acclaimed as having the most members in attendance. A friendly rivalry existed among the lodges; brothers worked hard and diligently for their lodges; and there was a noticeable feeling of pride and ownership among members of the First Kings District. Today this is no longer true. But it is my belief we can return to those glory days in high enough measure to make our district strong again if we each re-dedicate ourselves to take one extra step for our lodge.
Let us thank our current leadership headed by R∴W∴ Rohan Lundy, DDGM, and his team for struggling against the tide to keep us afloat and then steering us in a more positive direction. Let us, in turn, do our part by supporting their efforts and supporting our lodges. Let us next year endeavor to surpass the attendance at this Grand Lecturer’s Convention in a mighty way.
